News Flash! Bankrate.com and Yahoo! Finance published my retirement interview, Early Savings Pay Off Later in Retirement
Dominique at Your Finances Simplified asked me to check out his recent video. It is so amazing I had to share it with you:
Your credit report must be accurate in order to rent an apartment, get hired for a job, or take out a loan. Check it out once per year at annualcreditreport.com.

Dominique makes great videos. I like the style in which he presents his points, with a little humor but to the point. Way more fun to watch than reading about it
The Vaseline and brass knuckles…old school Dominique! Yes you have to send those companies the snail mail errors and you better have those facts. Sometimes you have to do it more then once.
You’re feeding Dom’s ego with this thing! Of course, I’m kidding. Great video that spells out the steps nicely.
Great steps. I’ve had to do this quite a umber of times as I am a Jr. Every once in a while info from my Dad will show up on mine, so I’ll have to write to get it removed.
@Thom, Joe, and John, Sometimes the old fashined way is the only solution to those pesky credit reporting errors. And Thom, I too like Dominiques approach, no messing around
I check my report periodically. I remember I had a problem a long time ago. A department store made a mistake and it took me nearly 6 months to have it fixed.
Congrats. You did amazing! And great steps!
@Krantc-I’ve been through it as well. A real pain!
@Ornella-Thank you
I check it a couple of times a year. I haven’t found any major mistakes other than a couple of department store cards that were closed that still showed open accounts. I’m not sure it that affected much. I hope I never have to dispute anything, but I feel like I have better tools since I’ve been following PF bloggers for a while now.
