Getting out of my home office is a productivity matter. If the environment doesn’t change once in a while, I get way too sidetracked and distracted and my productivity goes down.
My decision making regarding spending is based on a VALUE for COST premise.
It all started when I got the dreaded message, “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage,” as I went to connect to the internet. At that point, I was quite calm; as I was sure it was a temporary problem and would resolve itself. So I did what any internet savvy personal finance blogger would do, I went to an internet coffee shop with my laptop. So far, so good. Convinced that when I returned everything would be back to normal. Well, you guessed it, when I returned, everything was not back to normal.
Balance and time are key attributes for successful living. They go hand in hand with separating the important from the unimportant and prioritizing what to do when. Always remember that time is not renewable!
Theodore Roosevelt said, “When you play, play hard; when you work, don’t play at all.”
This is not a new thought… the idea of focusing on work while working and play while playing. The reason that some form of this quote is so popular is because IT IS TRUE. In spite of its veracity, how many of us really free ourselves from thoughts of work, while we are playing? Try it and see what happens to your productivity!
