“Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.”
Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan’s quote sums up in 7 words a phenomenal LIFE ATTITUDE; apply it to your job, your family, and your leisure activities.
The tagline of BarbaraFriedbergPersonalFinance is Educate, Inspire, Motivate for Wealth in Money & Life. This taste of some of my favorite bloggers focuses on wealth in life. The link between all the articles is fun and entertainment, with a personal finance twist. Read on and get ready to REJUVENATE during the week-end.
Matt, at DividendMonk writes about the Minimalist Mindset. Here’s what he says: “I see a lot of websites about living frugally. Many of them talk about making sacrifices so that one can reap benefits in the future. I don’t think this is a good way to approach it. Living simply and minimally should be both the path and the goal, not just the path.” Read the entire article and remember the “present” as well as the future!
In the article, Money is Not an Outcome, Evolution of Wealth offers another take on the same topic. Here’s a sample:
“Has your financial advisor every asked you…What are the three things you want your money to provide for you in the future?
If yes, how did you answer that? If no, get a new adviser. How simple is this question? Let’s start here. What do you want your money to provide for you in the future? What is the purpose of your money? Money is not a goal or an outcome. If I told you I will give you $1 million the day you retire would that make all your hopes and dreams come true?” Check out the full article.
Ingrid at MoreStylethanCash really understands the impact of beauty in life. Budgeting in the Garden presents a way to increase calm and serenity through your garden:
“The gardening magazines that are sprouting up in the grocery stores all have covers of gorgeous flower beds, stunning garden furniture and ornaments. Mentally I look at the pictures and do the math in my head; even their budget gardens cost thousands. It is a romantic notion to think that you can have a lovely garden without spending money on it and that nature will take care of itself. Like everything else in life if you want something to look nice you have to put time, effort and some cash into it. You can have a gorgeous garden, but not over night.” Want more? Visit her site.
LeanlifeCoach from Eliminate the Muda hits on the eternal challenge of finding LIFE BALANCE in the post, Work Life Balance, a New Definition.
“When you were a child and played on a see-saw the last thing we wanted was to sit still, perfectly balanced. Ideally you would have partners that would work with you. At times you are the one that would be doing the pushing, while at others you enjoy the ride. In control and working together you experience the maximum performance with the least amount of energy. Some say that work-life balance, properly managed, makes life as easy and smooth as riding a see-saw.” Read the article for more life satisfaction.
My pal, Len at LenPenzodotCom wrote this article last summer, but I thought it was so entertaining; I invite you to check it out. He offers instructions to parents in; Parents, Before you Name your Baby, Learn How to Spell.
“Today, I hope you’ll indulge me while I use this forum to address one of my biggest pet peeves. I am often accused of being a name snob and, in the court of public opinion, I plead guilty as charged. So much so, in fact, that I feel compelled to take a brief detour today from my primary role as a personal finance blogger to make a final stand on this topic. You see, sometimes I feel like I’m the only one out there who is annoyed with the growing army of parents that decide to get “creative” and tinker with the classic spellings of traditional names that have been with us for generations.” Click above and get ready to have a laugh or two.
Enjoy Fit in Fun Friday at the Library from Budgeting in the Fun Stuff. It’s about one of my favorite places in the whole world.
“The library is an oasis for anybody looking for entertainment. Readers can enjoy books, books on tape or CD’s, and ebooks to our heart’s content. Movie lovers can browse the DVD’s. People who like to stay in-the-know could take a look at a variety of newspapers and magazines that would cost a personal fortune to have delivered. They also have computer access with databases galore for anybody dying to go online or find research materials. In short, the library offers a ton of free entertainment options that are pretty easy to enjoy.” Read the whole article at this engaging site.
Of course, I’d like to include a reader favorite from BarbaraFriedbergPersonalFinance called, How Television can Save you Money.
“Learn why television may not be an evil monster but a viable tool for learning, leisure, and health. There may be more benefit and value in TV than you think. You decide!” See for yourself!
Enjoy the week-end, and make time for fun every day!
