Independence Day Holiday Gratitude
At the risk of sounding sappy, during this huge life transition, fraught with stressors and strains, here is a quick gratitude list. I have found (as has Oprah and countless others) that by focusing on one’s gifts, the stressors and strains seem to take less of a toll. I’m not advocating ignoring problems or difficulties, but additionally remembering all of those gifts we each have in life.
Cliff Notes Background; Moving across country, have no loan, nor a confirmed place to live. Living with the folks with NO INTERNET CONNECTION. El Carino has a new job, starting in the fall, we don’t know when our short sale home loan will be approved. Lots of uncertainty and stress!
Time to look on the bright side!
- The folks have an awesome lower level where El Carino, the two cats and I can live quite comfortably.
- No Rent!
- Wonderful blogging buddies to fill in during this time; Invest it Wisely, Buck Inspire, Optionsdude, No Debt MBA, Nerd Wallet, Prarie Eco Thrifter, Super Frugalette, and Afford Anything.
- Valued readers who continue to support me during this stressful time, by reading and commenting.
- The Yakezie Network, best personal finance network on line.
- Friends and family I can count on!
- Pool and tennis court at my parents condo!
- Sufficient emergency fund to remove most financial stresses?
- Without internet, the time to do other things like play games, swim and tennis!
- Opportunity to really talk and spend time with El Carino and the family!
- Knowing that Jr. Carino is living her dreams!
Wow, after writing all this down, the stresses seem a bit lighter.
Give the gratitude list a try and Happy 4th of July!
How do you deal with the uncontrollable stressors?

I couldn’t imagine myself without internet connection. It is much worse if there is no electricity like I experienced when I stay in the province for a vacation. But I have to agree there is a bright side of having no internet. It helps me relax and appreciate the time that I have. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi Lola, It is really an opportunity to force myself to accept what I cannot control. Although that is easier said than done.
